The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Conference is taking a year off from the traditional four day abstract-driven conference. This year, the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association and its partners will be hosting the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Learning Institute concentrating on four intermediate and advanced learning streams including:
- Advocacy, Leadership and Organizational Development
- Interdisciplinary Education and Practice
- Awareness, Information, Social Media and Advance Care Planning
- Clinical Practice – Pain and Symptom Management
- Clinical Practice – General
We are recruiting the best faculty in Canada along with recognized international leaders to make up a most sophisticated caliber of educators and mentors.
The Learning Institute will take place June 1, 2 and 3 2012 in Banff, Alberta, at the Banff Centre. The Learning Institute will provide the best and brightest in the Hospice Palliative Care field and other allied healthcare professionals with the opportunity to advance their skills and share their expertise. Over 30 intimate and intensive workshops and satellite meetings will be attended by doctors, nurses, pharmacists, researchers, caregivers, volunteers and social workers.
Hospice palliative care in Canada is at the threshold of significant change. Canadians have higher expectations of their own care at the end-of-life, and are increasingly insistent that they, and their families, receive highest quality hospice palliative care.
